Launch of SportsUnite ‘ Verbalize Goodness” Family Carnival tocelebrate Father’s Day 2011

A unique positive and wholesome Family Words & Sentence Competition was recently launched by YBhg Dato’ Aminah Abdul Rahman-Director General of the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) to celebrate Father’s Day 2011.

This first time ever positive words/sentence competition titled “Verbalize Goodness” will be held on the 19th June 2011 (Sunday) from 9am to 1.00 pm at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium, Jalan Cheras Kuala Lumpur.
As the title of the competition suggests - "Verbalise Goodness" this unique words competition will test families knowledge of words which are wholesome, good and positive. No negative questions requiring negative answers will be asked.

The event is open to 180 Malaysian families based on a selection made by a panel of judges on the quality of a chosen slogan in the entry form.
Interesting prizes in cash and kind will be awarded to the top 10 families. Certificates of participation and excellence will also be presented to all participating families and the top 10 winning families.

Light refreshments from sponsors - MILO, Nestle Koko Krunch Cereals and Tropicana Twister Juices and light lunch will be served to all participants and supporters. Tropicana Twister has also planned 3 interactive family games stalls at the stadium foyer area giving away interesting freebies as prizes.
LPPKN will also set up an exhibition promoting its wholesome vision and other important family values, provide free health screening, counseling and advice on good family financial management.

Families not taking part in the Verbalize Goodness contest are also encouraged to attend to enjoy these services and light refreshments provided free of charge by LPPKN and the sponsors.

For the “Verbalize Goodness” contest, each family will comprise any 3 immediate family members to include grandparents, parents, children and grand children. There is no age limit. It is important to note that extended family members like uncles, aunties, cousins, nephews, nieces etc are not allowed to take part but are most welcome to give moral support.

Entries close on the 6th June 2011.

The 180 successful families will be notified by email and post by the 13th June 2011.

Entry fee per family is only RM20. All entry fees will be donated to a multi racial children home in Klang Selangor - Persatuan Pengajaan Kanak Kanak Cacat Klang Selangor whose representative will be present at the event to receive the contribution during the prize presentation ceremony. Families may contribute more towards this worthy cause. Receipts will be issued during registration on event day.

This interesting Verbalize Goodness contest comes in 4 sections:
The first part of Section A will begin with 5 simple questions on “Pick the Positive Word” in Bahasa Malaysia. The 2nd part of Section A and all other Sections i.e. B, C and D will be in English.
a) Section A - Pick the positive word from 5 given words - 20 questions
b) Section B - Anagram - unscramble the positive word - 15 questions
c) Section C - Maze - Find 12 positive words in the Maze - 2 questions
d) Section D - Complete the positive sentence in not more than 30 words.

Section D is a tie-breaker and will only be used to decide winners should any of the top 10 winning families have similar points in Section A to C. Clues will be given by the Master of Ceremonies to help families will find the correct answers.
This unique positive words competition is organized by Kelab Sukan SportsUnite with the support of the National Population and Family Development Board ( Lembaga Penduduk & Pembangunan Keluarga Negara - LPPKN).
